Heyla

I’ve come from a mixed background concerning evolution having once believed that it was perhaps an integral part of the creation of Earth by God in the acclaimed six days, those days not necessarily having been six literal 24 hour days. Thus evolution I thought could have happened throughout that unspecified period of time. However as I’ve grown older (today) and looked deeper into this I’ve found that such an idea was glaringly impossible. More and more scientific evidence is bringing to light the flaws in Darwin’s evolution theory while at the same time increasingly validating the ‘intelligent design theory’. Since I am already a Christian (ooooohh) this just adds to my belief that God created the world in six 24 hour days and that our existence has nothing to do with ‘random mutations,’ ‘natural selection’ or any other relative.

With respect to evolution and those unfamiliar with it this article has a quick summary of the 6 different types of evolution. Along with the summary are explanations of many of the flaws in the arguments put forward by advocates of evolution. But you don’t need to read them unless you’re a masochist (look that one up). There is also another article that has a few interesting tidbits that may make you think – look at that human bone they found (Could giants really have existed back then? I think so). There is also a theory that explains why that bone is so big, how people grew that big in ancient times and why we don’t grow so big now. This site has the video –click "Semiar Part 2-The Garden of Eden" (note it is only a theory but hey evolution is just a theory as well and look where that went).

In light of my opinion here is a link (click "Debate #15 - Three Views: Who's Right?") to a debate between three professors and their respective views about evolution i.e.
1) It never happened and God created the world.
2) God and evolution go hand in hand (don’t ask me how though) and
3) God isn’t real, evolution is and we all evolved from rocks.
You decide what you believe but I think the last two are pretty cracked.

Carrying on from that debate this here is an article about dinosaurs (dragons?) and it pretty much blows gaping holes in the ‘million/billion years timeframes’ Darwin and co. had going.

In the meantime ‘Onwards to Intelligent Design!’ Clarification of one point though –Intelligent Design was not thought up by Christians as proof of God. It is a conclusion arrived at by many thousands of accredited scientists after having studied life on Earth and come to the conclusion that it is impossible for all of us to have evolved out of some primordial soup. We Christians simply take it as one more sign that God is real and he actually did create the Earth. Intelligent Design and Christian beliefs are actually separate but synonymous.

This link is to a rather intriguing series of essays. What happened is one person with one view wrote an essay, then another person with an opposite view wrote an essay to counter it. A third person who shared the first person’s view also wrote an essay to counter the second persons and so on. Such interchange I found quite interesting though I really don’t agree with some of the opinions given.

In diversion here, I found a really fascinating theory about how Noah’s flood happened (don’t deny it did happen as there’s too much proof it did). What you can argue is whether or not Noah did float around on top of it in his huge boat with all those flea-bitten animals (dragons?) and there is even a cool 2minute video to go with it (cooool).

Welcome back. For those of you who are interested in learning more about Intelligent Design or (dare I think you’re so bold) Creationism, these two sites (1, 2) have a lot of info and articles etc that I found really justified my belief in God’s Creation. Who knows maybe one of you will actually take a look (I promise it won’t make you grow warts. Really.).

In conclusion Evolution is a really flawed theory in my opinion (mine does matter) and I am totally convinced that Creationists have the right idea based on scientific observation ad infinitum (look it up). Fear not, I am open to other opinions on the matter (provided they agree with mine, lol) and thought I’d better give you some room in which to manoeuvre. You know where I stand. Alright, let the argument begin (cannon fodder line up here).

  2. Hey, this is good!

Thanks for all your research on this one. It’s good to know that ideas are moving on from Darwin’s Theory. After all, we are in the 21st century and thinking shouldn’t get bogged down in his theory alone. Darwin was in the era of ‘The New Think’, that is, where science took the front position with the idea of rationalism and observation paramount. Consequently, religious teachings took the back seat. The picture of the large bone is stunning. It would be interesting to know if they have done DNA testing to see if there is any link to today’s humans. I remember seeing a film years ago about Noah’s Ark and the possible remains. Let’s face it, if there is positive prove that Jesus did live, we should remain opened minded. After all, although we have built our society around and on science, it is not infallible. Like to hear your take on David and Goliath. Thanks again for your hard work on this one.

  3. Wow this is a subject that really interests you. I've never really completly belived in the idea of evolution but being agnostic I also don't completly beleive that the world was created by the big guy upstairs either. Maybe I'm somewhere in between.

I remember seeing a documentary on Noahs Ark when I was a child showing that they had found remainders of a large ship on top of a mountain and were contemplating whether it was perhaps part of Noah's Ark. I remember finding that fascinating.

Enjoyed the picture of the large bone, it's crazy to think we could have ever been that big. I think the main factor to keep in mind when looking at the theories of how this world came to be how it now is in the beginning is to keep an open mind. After all anything is possible.

  4. Wow what a topic.Somehow i think this debate will be going on for many centuries to come unless someone stumbles on to some very conclusive evidence but even then there will be those who just dont want to hear or believe.
Myself well i remember getting into a heated debate with a friend many years ago over THE BIG BANG THEORY.
Well i have never believed in any god that i cant see so for me there is just as much chance of the Tooth Fairy bieng real.Wouldnt the world be a far better place if we lived in a world where there was not wars and people bieng persecuted and killed because of peoples religious ideals.
But then variety is the spice of life and makes the world an interesting if somewhat dangerous place to be sometimes. We are all entitled to our beliefs well at least in NZ and if we dont force our beliefs onto others its all good.
I look forward to reading other comments on your blog you have a great topic and interesting ideas.

  6. This is one of those "sensitive" topics with many different views depending on your religious or non-religious back round. And again in those religious back rounds have many different religions with different beliefs about how things came to be. For example Christianity belives "God" created the earth and all its beings. When i was living at a temple in Japan i remember my Host Grandfather telling me some Shintoist stories, one of which was about the two gods that "Drew earth".
No body can say who is right or wrong as people are free to belive what the wish .... which makes this a good topic to get some disscusion out of.
Thanks for the good read ^_^

  8. I thought this blog was really interesting. I'm not a religious person myself, and I do believe we were evolved naturally (although, not from rocks). Religion is always a very touchy subject. It will always be based upon race, country, background, and what you were taught when you were young, but in the end I believe it comes down to the fact that, no one 'really' knows what happened and how, and therefore it should be up to the person to believe in what they want.

  9. Intersting topic! From my point of view, I don't agree with you in this point. Firstly, I have no any religion, I trust science and all I know from books lead me to believe that evolution is just a matter of genetic thing. Secondly, as you said:"I found a really fascinating theory about how Noah’s flood happened (don’t deny it did happen as there’s too much proof it did). ", I donot agree either because I think it is a fairy story. Last but not the least, Darwin’s evolution theory really provide people with a lot of theoritical facts, I believe in this.

But your article is very profounded and thank you for let me learn a lot different theories from that.
